Position: Book Taxi Dispatcher / Call Centre Operator
Location: Ballarat (Head Office)
Remuneration: Part Time / Contractor

We have a part-time opportunity for superior customer service specialists to become a Taxi Dispatchers are responsible for the coordinating and dispatching of taxis bookings, communicating with taxi drivers over 2 way radio and assisting with inquiries regarding bookings, emergency procedures and all other inquiries as per company guidelines.

Applicants must be able to work a rotating roster which includes mornings, afternoons and overnight shifts as well as weekends and public holidays.  Applicants who cannot work these sifts need not apply.

Taxi Call dispatcher focusses around being able to answer the phone in a professional manner to both regular and new customers from all different walks of life. Professionalism, multi-tasking abilities and the ability to work under pressure is key to being successful in this role. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Answering phone calls from new and existing customers and booking in jobs using our self-hosted cloud dispatch system
  • Obtain and confirm the necessary information from the customer regarding their booking, record all data accurately and dispatch the job to the fleet
  • Communicating with drivers over the two-way radio as they clear hail jobs
  • Communicating and resolving driver issues and concerns
  • Resolving customer queries in a timely matter
  • Meeting KPI’s on incoming call times (keeping the incoming calls to the shortest time possible, without sacrificing quality or missing critical details)
  • Manage, allocate and rank taxi bookings to ensure all jobs are dispatched in a timely manner prioritizing pre-booking and medical appointment(s)
  • Applying cancellation fees to customer card files in the event of a taxi no show
  • Providing customers quotes over the phone and via email
  • Tracking drivers and ensuring that drivers work flows on from job to job
  • Assist drivers that may find themselves in a safety situation
